| This is are a very small selection of the tens of thousands of stamps and "job lots" I have for sale. I am constantly buying new stock, so if what you need is not here, please ask! I stock basic Australia and most "Australasian Pacifics" 100% complete up to 1980, and the material in my lists is generally only the more unusual and interesting stock - let me quote on the "bread and butter" stuff. And with the terribly low
rate of the Australian dollar in recent times, the prices on these lists
converts to CHICKEN FEED for those of you who earn other than "Pacific
Pesos." Not ONLY the $US, but Sterling and the EURO are also incredibly
strong against our pathetic little currency. I buy 99% of my stock locally - I
am thought to be the largest stamp buyer in Australia's largest city, so I pay
in Pacific Pesos and sell in Pesos, hence the incredible savings to ALL
overseas buyers. If you buy via "Auction" (even if you are an Australian
resident) you are always paying 15-20% "buyer premium",
plus GST/VAT type taxes and other charges in many cases.
That can add 30% to the hammer price of the stamps!
There is NO
sales tax or "premium" or GST/VAT of any
kind added to orders from the list below, no matter WHERE I mail the goods.

A modern day fairytale took place on May
14, 2004.
Mary Donaldson - a country girl "commoner" from
Tasmania Australia, married into the oldest Monarchy in Europe. This event was
the subject of a public holiday in Denmark, and live coverage on Australian
network television. And mass print media coverage.
A LIMITED EDITION OF
150 sets of official Wesley covers was rush produced for this event.
Wesley have been producing Australian covers for well over 50 years, and have
issued special covers to commemorate every main event in that period.
These as far as I know are the ONLY Australian
related stamp covers created and cancelled here for this historic event.
Australia Post produced nothing for the occasion, due to the very short
lead-time involved. Most Australian stamp issues are planned over a year in
advance.
Denmark of course is issuing a ton of
material - with stamps, PNC, Maxi Cards, and a common design Souvenir Sheet from
Denmark, Faroes and Greenland - the latter 2 of course both use Danish currency
and are under Danish administration. (See below for image
of the Danish sheet - available from all new issue dealers. A special PO folder
was issued containing all 3 mini sheets in the folder.)
There
are only 150 sets of these 7 covers for the world.
Each set of 7 covers is matched numbered on the
reverse - i.e. 0009 etc.
It is planned to mail the set of 7 covers numbered
0001 to the Royal Palace, as a wedding gift from "Stamp News", to be
included in the Danish Royal Stamp Collection.
The covers are all cancelled with the pictorial
Hobart Botanical Gardens pictorial postmarkers. There are 2 reasons for this
Hobart and Botanical connection - Mary Donaldson was raised in Hobart, and the
Australian Government gift was 9 established Huon Pine trees from Tasmania.
All covers are cancelled May 14 - the day of the
wedding. Each is franked by the special Australia 50˘ wedding
band issue.
Each of the 7 covers has an attractive different
full colour image. Five of the images show the couple together in various formal
and informal situations, and the other two covers show individual images of
the bride and groom.
Crown Prince Frederik and Mary first met at a Sydney Hotel - the "Slip Inn" ...
during the Sydney Olympics 2000. That hotel is offering free beer this weekend
to all patrons who produce a Danish passport!
An official press release from the Prime Minister
of Australia is below, outlining the attendance of
His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO
MC - Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia to officially represent
this country at the wedding.
There are
only 150 SETS of these covers Worldwide.
No cover will be sold separately - only in sets of
7.
I secured one third of the total printing - 50
sets of 7. These are offered on a first come - first
served basis. I am emailing a number of clients and dealer colleagues I
have in Denmark, and they will pay these prices if they order. I have little
doubt my 50 sets might be purchased from Denmark alone when word spreads.
"Stamp News" will run a double page
colour spread offering their 50 covers in the "June" 2004 magazine mailed end of
May. My guess is that these will sell out in days of publication. My price per
set is identical to the $A95 they will be offered at in "Stamp News".
They will not offer discounts for 2 sets. I have lowered my own margin to
facilitate this as many collectors like to buy such souvenirs for children or
grandchildren etc, or for investment.
Wesley Cover Service retained 50 of these 150 sets
of 7 for their own standing order clientele. As far as I know no
other dealer anywhere in the world apart from "Stamp News",
myself, and Wesley Cover Service will have these sets for sale.
They are an exclusive, very attractive and
desirable product, and will sell FAST. A Limited Edition of only 150 sets of
something with this wide interest will be something keenly sought in the future.

AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS at the $A prices shown. Where I have used a
£Stg or $US price etc conversion in text on any offer at any time - that is to
be treated as very APPROXIMATE as it may have been computed a while back.
It was correct at that time, but $A exchange rates have been VERY volatile in
recent times. Please use the spinning gold currency converter found on Home
Page of my website to ascertain the current EXACT amount in your own currency
according to today's mid-rate. Remember - I will
always charge your credit card the $A sum
shown for each lot, (plus shipping and insurance) and NOT the sum shown
as rough approximation in a non-Australian currency.
There are NO nasty 15% "Buyer's
Commissions" or other such outrageous fees added to the price YOU pay
when you deal with Glen Stephens. A $1,000 Kangaroo stamp from me
costs $1,000 plus shipping. You could bid "$1,000" for the same Kangaroo
stamp from an "Auction" house (who in Sydney OFTEN owns the stamp
themselves anyway!) and it might cost $1,000 plus 15% "Buyer Fee" plus 10%
GST on that $1,150 =
the "$1000" stamp is now often invoiced at $1,265.
All depends on whether possibly saving $265 is important to you I
guess.
